Once you’re at the interview stage (not just the preselection call, though that matters too), the hiring manager has already determined that you meet the basic qualifications and could be a fit for the role.
There are so many tools available today to help you land the job, and ChatGPT is one of them.
A few things to keep in mind when using AI to prepare:
• Don’t oversell your capabilities—you want to sound confident, not unrealistic.
• An experienced hiring manager can spot inauthentic answers a mile away.
• People can feel when something is fake. Authenticity always wins.
Here are five prompts that will actually help you prepare:
"Tell me about [Company Name] and explain in the simplest way possible what this company does."
→ Helps you understand the company in clear terms so you can articulate why you want to work there.
"Based on my current role, how does this job description align with what the company is looking for?"
→ Allows you to bridge the gap between your experience and the role, making it easier to position yourself as the right fit.
"For the skills that aren’t explicitly listed on my resume, how can I make it clear to the hiring manager that I have transferable skills?"
→ Helps you highlight relevant experience even if it’s not directly stated in your CV.
"What are some pertinent questions I should ask in this interview, and why are they important?"
→ Ensures you ask insightful questions that make you stand out as an engaged and thoughtful candidate.
"Here are my past accomplishments: How can I structure them using the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) framework?"
→ Helps you craft compelling, structured answers that showcase your impact.
Use these prompts wisely, keep it real, and go get that job.
